Locals suspect fire was started deliberately after three loud bangs heard just before 9am

Two cars were left completely burnt out after a fire broke out on a quiet residential street on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tweed Drive, Craigshill, at around 8:45am after residents reported hearing three loud bangs and spotting flames coming from two vehicles. Firefighters from Livingston Fire Station responded swiftly and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread to nearby homes.

The cause of the fire remains unclear, but residents say they believe it was no accident.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "We heard three loud bangs - it sounded like explosions. When we looked outside, the cars were already up in flames."

Another neighbour reported witnessing the incident, saying: "A car came in and threw something at the car - next thing you know, it's on fire."

No one was injured, but the dramatic incident has left the community shaken..

It is still unknown whether Police Scotland have been made aware of the incident, as two fire crews remain at the scene.
